March 9th, 2012 – Fort Leaton, Texas

We started the last leg of our trip (625 miles) , by taking a very winding road (from Lajitas to Presidio) through some beautiful mountains and along the Rio Grande.  It is one of the 50 most scenic drives in America and if you ever get a chance to do it, you should.  Unfortunately, the weather was not good so there are no pictures.  About one hour  from Lajitas, we found Fort Leaton and stopped to be educated on trading in the Old West.  One tip we can give you is when you are driving in Texas (especially in the middle of nowhere Texas) you need to fill up your tank when it is half full, or run the risk of running dry.
