March 20th, 2012 – Saguaro National Park

We went to Saguaro National Park – East which is east of Tucson.  The cactuses are amazing.  A few facts for you – they live 175 – 200 years, they are 75 years old before the grow an arm and can grow to 75 feet.  They bloom in April and May so we will head back to get pictures of them with their flowers.

Lots of really good memories of this place. We would run out there on the weekends when I was in school in Tucson. The beauty of the desert grows on you over time. It took me awhile as it was so different from the northeast. At first it just seems brown and dry but over time you notice the small differences of the seasons and you begin to see the true beauty.
