July 17th, 2012 – University of Maryland & Georgetown

To escape the heat, we rested on Monday and did a t-shirt run on Tuesday.  We went by the University of Maryland and got Terp shirts.  It is a beautiful campus and very well laid out.  We stopped for a burger in Bobby Flay’s restaurant that was near campus.  Their burgers are great – I had a LA burger and Don had a Philly burger.   We did, however make a mistake that you should not make if you ever go.  Their signature is to “crunchify” burgers which means they put potato chips on them.  We did not realize that you could do that to any burger until too late.   Since we had planned on driving to see the house that Leslie lived in in Virginia when she was in the 10th and 11th grade, and we had to go through DC anyway, we stopped by Georgetown University and then Georgetown (last two pictures).
