October 8th, 2012 – Sedona, AZ

We drove up to the Sedona area for a week of camping, eating, hiking, and picture taking.  Today we mostly focused on getting a lay of the land and what a beautiful land it is!  We took these pictures while we were driving around Sedona and Red Rock.

We stopped at The Chapel of the Holy Cross (fifth picture).  It is a multi-denominational church that is over 50 years old.  The mountains behind the church are called the Mystic Hills.   The cross is the most prominent feature and it looks like it was wedged into the rock.

We started the eating part at a cute place in Jerome.  We had blue corn enchiladas and our first margarita ever at 15 Quince  Grill and Cantina.  They were both very good.

Be prepared, it is so beautiful here we will probably be posting pictures every day.

Beautiful! Do you feel any of the artistic energy the place is known for? Or maybe that was just the margarita! 🙂

    Hope you are well!!

We are just so fortunate to live in such a beautiful country. Your pictures are great. Hope you are having a great, great time. Stay safe!!!

Your first margarita? Probably a good location to do that. Several years ago I had the opportunity to spend a week in Sedona and loved it. The picturesque landscape, the energy, the artists, the lifestyle and the food. Check out Heartline Cafe if you have an opportunity. Will look forward to more postings of the area.

Loved reading and seeing your new Post as Always. We have not yet been to Sedona (perhaps someday) but might have seen it from an airplane. The closest we’ve been by land is Williams – have been there several times. Loved seeing those huge ‘rock formations’ along the way. I’m sure these around Sedona would be a feast for the eyes.

Forgive me for not replying to your last mail – been busy around here. I will try to get back to you soon. Will be having my second Lazer Surgery tomorrow afternoon. Need your prayers. Love to you both – Shakespear too!
