February 15th, 2013 – Catalina Mountains Romero Canyon Trail – Tucson, AZ

Today, Don took another hike without Leslie (she continues to recover from her foot and stomach ailments) in the Catalina Mountains.  The hike covered the Canyon Loop, Montrose Pools and Birding trails, and was also rated a D, or easy.  The hike traverses an area that is a great example of the Sonoran Desert and its riparian areas.  It even included several water crossings, resulting from our snows this winter.  In about another month the desert will be in full bloom.

Interesting Don….. so good that you can do this while you are still young. At one time I would have loved it but then I’m not young anymore. Although I do enjoy seeing your pictures! Hope you don’t miss seeing all those blooms on your next hike. I remember seeing a few blooms along the way the first time we traveled in the desert and it was beautiful.
