May 1st, 2015 – Castellina in Chianti – Italy

After our fabulous trip to Siena, we stopped in Castellina in Chianti for a wine tasting.  A Chianti wine must be 80% sangiovese and must be produced with grapes grown in the Tuscany region of Italy.  The large amount of sangiovese makes the wine very dry (at least in our opinion).  The wine was very good, although our favorite was not one of the chiantis (it is a wonder we were not thrown out of the tasting.)

I’m glad they didn’t throw you out of the wine tasting….. I wouldn’t have like that part of the trip but I sure would have loved ‘eyeballing’ the beauty in that last picture. Soooo beautiful!
