Another cloudy, rainy day so we changed our plans and went walking in a nearby town Lauterbrunnen which is known for its waterfalls. It is surrounded by high mountains on each side and the melting snow cascades over the cliffs in many places. It was a very nice walk and Leslie got to see some bunnies that were in a pen outside one of the houses on the trail.
We also walked around Grindelwald where we are staying. The third picture shows that farm where we are staying. It is quite the steep walk up and down the hill to the town. We also got to be there when they brought the cows back from the field. They have 25 cows that they drive down the street in the morning to a field that they rent and then they bring them back up at night. They have three little boys, probably age 2 – 7, and they help. If you look hard, you can see the 2 year old watching the cows as they come in in the last picture. We are not getting to see the mountains, but we are enjoying experiencing the Swiss country side.
