We went on an all day cruise today and went to the Northwestern Fjord, which is a place that only 300,000 people have seen. We were impressed with being part of that, when you think that Yellowstone gets that many visitors in a week during the summer. We had a beautiful day for the cruise and had a great time. We met a very nice couple from New Jersey on the boat and enjoyed talking with them all day. We also owe the picture of the orca to them. Yes, that is right – we saw orcas. We were so happy because they are the only whale (of whales you normally see) that we have not seen in the wild.
There are also some pictures in here from our last trip to Alaska which was in 2008. Since we did not have a blog back then, we decided to share them now. Those pictures are number 1, 7, and 12 – 17. Number 12 and 13 are a humpback whale that was feeding right next to the boat. Number 13 is the inside of its mouth. The rest of the pictures show how beautiful the day was and how how blue the ice is in the sun. The reason for that is that the ice is so dense, it absorbs all the color that we can see except blue.
