April 18th, 2016 – White Mountains – Arizona

We started our 14 week RV trip today (so be prepared for some blogs).  Since Kansas City is our first destination, we got to drive northeast through the beautiful White Mountains.  It is a beautiful drive, but there are not a lot of places to stop and get pictures.  We had to wait for the rest area at Salt River Canyon (first 4 pictures) which is one of the most beautiful rest areas we have come across.  For those of you who enjoy riding Harleys, this would be a great route.   Once we were out of the mountains, we sadly had to pass by some brown signs (signs for national parks/monuments/historic sites) because we did not have time to stop – more ideas for another trip!

So nice to hear from you – I thought it was about ‘that’ time. Just thinking about 14 weeks of travel – and I’m tired already. But the scenes here are just breath taking…. reminds me of some of the places we saw on our trip out West in 2013. Be safe and have a wonderful journey. We look forward to traveling along with you via the blogs.
