May 17th – 21st – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

We spent a few days in Philadelphia with our son Christopher and his wife Amanda.  We finally made it to John’s Roast Pork for a Philly Cheesesteak.  Our friend Bill told us that once we ate one from here, we would never order it anywhere else.  It was delicious – he was right.

We  (or Leslie) are hooked on these escape room games, so we went to one here.  We were successful in breaking out of this one.  It was bit easier than the one in KC, but still a challenge.  We definitely got our steps in.  Christopher and Amanda walk everywhere.  We walked 10 miles a day.  We would be in great shape if we lived in a big city and did not have a car.  This was wonderful though as the weather was so nice.  All of this walking gave Don a chance to do one of his very favorite things – take pictures in a big city.

Our niece Sara and her boyfriend Danny took the train from New York to see us.  We had a great time with them walking around the city (what is it with these city people and walking everywhere?) and spending time at the pool club.  It was a cool rainy day so we had the club all to ourselves.

    Hey Leslie,

Maybe you already know but when I clicked on ‘comment’ for this one this is what it says:  Not Found Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help. No big deal – but if I could have left a comment I suppose I would have said something like:  Living in the big city sounds like a bunch of fun to me.  When Don and I went to Niagara Falls and the Amish Country with Christian Tours in June 2000 our first night we stayed at the Hilton in Pittsburg, Pa.  Don’t know how but we ended up on the eighth floor with a corner room (maybe because it was our anniv. ).  Two huge windows looking over the city in two directions.  To our left was Fifth Avenue Place  – Pennsylvania’s Market Square.    We could see the Golden Triangle and the Three Rivers Staduim.  The Carnegie Science Center and the Civic Arena.  At night the view was really spectacular.  I sat there looking out the window half the night…  soooo pretty.
