June 9th, 2016 – Miller Park (Brewers vs Mets) – Milwaukee, Wisconsin

And another one bites the dust ……  and another home team loses.  We have definitely lost our touch.  This time the New York Mets and the crafty, rotund 43 year old pitcher Bartolo Colon, beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5 -2.  We got to see Colon break a record.  The most plate appearances without drawing a walk –  259.  He actually swung at the pitch that would have been the 4th ball.  Maybe he knew that would break the record.

The Brewers play in Miller Park, as in Miller Brewing Company, an appropriate sponsor for the brewers.  The park features North America’s only fan-shaped convertible roof, which can open and close in less than 10 minutes. Large panes of glass allow natural grass to grow, augmented with heat lamp structures wheeled out across the field during the off-season.

We enjoyed the beef brisket from the Smokehouse and Leslie thought that the chocolate, caramel, pecan covered pretzel stick was outstanding.  Check out the last 3 pictures — was the base runner safe or out?
