June 11th and 12th, 2016 – Ludington State Park – Ludington, Michigan

We are making our way to the upper peninsula of Michigan, enjoying the scenery all the way.  For those of you wondering why we left Michigan only to come back, we had to coordinate around the home games for the baseball stadiums we needed to check off our list.

Lake Michigan is absolutely beautiful.  We ended the day watching a beautiful sunset and started the next day with a 5 mile walk to Big Sable Point Lighthouse.  It was built in 1867 and mariners were able to see a constant white light from 19 miles away.  The light keeper’s house was nicer than a lot of the ones we have seen.  Other than the remoteness, this would have been a nice place to live.

You know I love the water scenes – especially beach and ocean ones. The sunset scene is also gorgeous. The Lighthouse reminds me of one we saw at Cape Cod out in the remote area. Don loves Lighthouses and we have climbed up in many along our pathway of life. Probably won’t ever be doing it again but I still love seeing them so thanks for sharing. .
