July 3rd, 2016 – Theodore Roosevelt National Park (South Unit) – North Dakota

Today we went to the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  We are really enjoying being back in the west.  We can see for miles, the rock formations are beautiful, the humidity is low (sort of).  You might notice that we are not in any of the pictures.  That would be because it was in the 90s, and another thing about the west – there is no shade.  Perfect day to take the 36 mile scenic drive and take pictures.  We will not tell you how many times we stopped in the middle of the road to get pictures (which you are not supposed to do).  We have said it time and again, parks need to take a photographer with them when they put in pullouts, because they never seem to be in the right place.

Just finished up with viewing your photos for today; looks like Larry and Sharon are ready to leave and catch up with you. I am enjoying your travels, photos and commentary. Steve and I have a new addition to our family; he is a 12 week old orange/red tabby kitten whose original name was Dash, but we have decided to name him O’Reilly instead. He is as cute as can be and full of pep and energy!

Frenchie loves him and Ozzie is slowly getting used to him. Miss you both but am happy you are enjoying your travels! Hugs and much love to you…Cathy
