July 14th, 2016 – Fort Collins, Colorado

On our way to Rocky Mountain National Park, we stopped at two breweries in Fort Collins.  They were right around the corner from each other, so we had to do it.

Odell Brewing was founded in 1989 by Doug, Wynne and Corkie Odell in a converted 1915 grain elevator located on the outskirts of downtown Fort Collins.  Starting in his kitchen in Seattle, Doug Odell had spent ten years refining recipes and playing with brewing processes.  They are now the 34th largest craft brewery in the country.

New Belgium Brewing was open in 1991 and is now the 4th largest craft brewer in the U.S.  Leslie recognized one of their beers – Fat Tire, so you know they are a large brewery.  Fortified by beer, we made the drive to the Rockies for our 4 days of dry camping.
