Day 2 of the trip put Don’s new waterproof camera to the test. It was a beautiful sunny day (which is good because the water was 52 degrees) and they went through about a dozen class 6 and 7 (out of 10) rapids. Don took some great movies of them going through the rapids. Unfortunately, we cannot load those, so if you want to see the movies of the rapids you will have to visit us.
The 7th picture shows one of the stops for the day. In the foreground is a hot spring where you can get nice and warm and them jump off the rock in the background into the cold river. Brandon is in the left corner of the raft preparing to get another soaking. A second stop involved a walk (a climb up a rope and hanging ladder) to a grotto containing Travertine Falls (pictures 13 – 14). As you can see from the pictures, the view of the Grand Canyon from the river is outstanding.
Another night on a beach with a great dinner – shrimp appetizer, NY strip steak and brownies.
